In this blog post, we’ll take you on a virtual journey through our favorite highlights of this unforgettable itinerary, featuring stops in Rome, Santorini, Mykonos, Ephesus, and Naples. Get ready to immerse yourself in the beauty and history of the Mediterranean like never before!

Day 1: Rome, Italy – The Eternal City

Your adventure begins in Rome, where ancient history meets modern charm. Spend your first day exploring iconic landmarks such as the Colosseum, Vatican City, or the Trevi Fountain. Don’t forget to indulge in delicious Italian cuisine at a local trattoria and savor a scoop of gelato as you stroll through the charming streets of the Eternal City. Our favorite stop was Trastevere, it was a cute spot filled with delicious restaurants, gelato, and architecture. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in Enoteca Trastevere and we had the best Lasagna we’ve ever tasted.

Day 2: At Sea – Relax and Unwind

After a day of sightseeing in Rome, take this opportunity to relax and unwind onboard your Royal Caribbean cruise ship. Lounge by the pool, enjoy a spa treatment, or participate in onboard activities and entertainment. Whether you’re looking to soak up the sun or socialize with fellow travelers, there’s something for everyone to enjoy while sailing the Mediterranean. During our day at sea, we enjoyed a morning in the spa, game of bingo which was so much fun and a teppanyaki dinner which was very entertaining.

Day 3: Santorini, Greece – A Picture-Perfect Paradise

Prepare to be enchanted by the breathtaking beauty of Santorini, with its iconic, white-washed buildings, crystal-clear waters, and stunning sunsets. Explore the charming villages of Oia and Fira, perched high atop the cliffs, and don’t miss the opportunity to sample local specialties such as fresh seafood and traditional Greek mezes. Be sure to capture the moment with a photo overlooking the iconic, blue-domed churches and volcanic caldera – a memory you’ll cherish forever. Travel tip, get your tender tickets early as it took us about 3 hours to disembark and once you arrive at the port take the cable car up to Fira. On our way back to the cruise we took the stairs, if you choose to take the stairs, bring comfortable walking shoes, and be prepared to share the stairs with the many donkeys.

Day 4: Mykonos, Greece – Party Like a Greek

Known for its vibrant nightlife and picturesque beaches, Mykonos is a playground for millennial travelers seeking fun and relaxation. Spend the day lounging on the golden sands of Paradise Beach, exploring the narrow streets of Mykonos Town, or dancing the night away at one of the island’s famous beach clubs. With its laid-back vibe and lively atmosphere, Mykonos is sure to be a highlight of your Greek Isles adventure. When visiting Mykonos, our favorite restaurant was Nice n Easy, it had amazing views and delicious food. For an afternoon treat, stop at Snow Ice Cream you won’t regret it.

Day 5: Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey – Step Back in Time

Immerse yourself in ancient history as you explore the ruins of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean. Wander through the marble streets, marvel at the grandeur of the Library of Celsus, and imagine life in the ancient world as you stand in the Great Theatre where St. Paul once preached. Ephesus offers a fascinating glimpse into the past and is a must-visit destination for history buffs and curious travelers alike. The port had some of the best Mediterranean food we’ve ever had.

Day 6: Naples, Italy – Gateway to the Amalfi Coast

Your final port of call brings you to Naples, the gateway to some of Italy’s most iconic destinations. Take a day trip along the stunning Amalfi Coast, with its dramatic cliffs, charming coastal towns, and azure waters. Visit the ancient city of Pompeii, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, or indulge in the culinary delights of Naples, including authentic pizza and delectable pastries. Whatever you choose, Naples offers a perfect finale to your Greek Isles cruise. My sister and I enjoyed a Pizza making class, we met incredible people and had delicious pizza.

Day 7: At Sea – Farewell to the Mediterranean

As your cruise comes to an end, take this final day to reflect on the incredible experiences and memories you’ve had along the way. Whether you’re lounging on deck, reminiscing with newfound friends, or planning your next adventure, savor every moment of your Mediterranean voyage with Royal Caribbean.
